The scope of this practice expends somewhat beyond the boundaries of these categories. Some claims are not always so clear into which category they fall. At the end of the day, finding the right category is not critical – just finding the right lawyer.
One of the ‘other’ areas is which this office regularly practices is Products Liability. In a Products Liability case, it is the manufacturer or seller of a defectively designed or manufactured product which is sued for injuries resulting from the defect. These cases can involve special challenges from a scientific view and can necessitate close interaction between the manufacturer (the only true expert in their product), the lawyer, and the expert witness.
The firm has successfully litigated a number of construction disputes. Part contract and part tort, these cases involve questions of whether actions were negligent and what damages are available under contract. These cases do not necessarily involve injury to a person but can be centered only around property damage or even construction delay.
The office has represented corporate and individual clients in foreclosure actions, bankruptcy cases, and other complicated civil litigations. In addition to these corporate legal actions, we also provide corporate and advice services for our corporate clients. Sometimes “defense” means defending you from future issues – it’s not always that lawsuit that has already been filed.
